Join the DONATEinKIND Movement

Donating used or new goods by individuals, communities and companies to needy NGOs and organisations is what DONATEinKIND movement all about. While monetary donations can be made by those with financial means, donating-in-kind can be done by practically everyone because item being donated is already with the potential donor.

Donating-in-kind provides an immediate benefit since the receiver can make use of the donated item within the shortest possible time. Used items such as clothes, shoes, books, textbooks, toys, furniture, household

goods, appliances, computers and bicycles that are not being utilized any longer are of no utility to the possessor, whereas the underprivileged with limited means can access quality goods which they would not have been able to afford on their own.

Reuse is a great eco-friendly step. By reusing an item, multiple benefits accrue from environmental point of view. The item’s lifecycle is extended. Energy and raw materials are saved since new production to corresponding extent is avoided. Reduced manufacture results in lesser air and water pollution, thereby making the planet more sustainable.

About Us

Donateinkind is a one-stop resource for donating-in-kind. Through this online platform we seek to popularise the concept of in-kind donations. Many NGOs and organisations serving the underprivileged in fields as diverse as education, livelihood, healthcare, care for orphans and the elderly welcome in-kind donations. On the other hand, many individuals and communities wish to donate used goods that are in usable condition.

However, identifying the organisations needing in-kind donations has been time-consuming and frustrating for the donors, in the absence of a comprehensive database. To overcome this problem, Donateinkind platform has been set up and here we feature a trust-worthy and vetted network of organisations in most of the cities of India, with whom donors can communicate directly. Donors can also approach us and in that case, we shall undertake necessary co- ordination.

We also urge budding social entrepreneurs to promote donations-in-kind in their cities and towns, followed by collection and distribution of used and new products. Likewise, we welcome seekers of donations in kind to inform us about their requirements, so that this platform can bring their needs to the attention of our audience of do-gooders.

In order to maintain our non-commercial nature, we have refrained from carrying any advertisements on the portal. We have no monetary transactions with NGOs or donors. Our sole aim is to connect people to causes that matter! This has prompted us to launch this portal as well as three other portals: CancerAssist.in covers assistance for cancer patients in India, CancerScreening.in promotes screening and detection of cancer and CPRsavesLIFE.in is a campaign to save lives of Sudden Cardiac Arrest victims, through CPR and AED.
